Horizontal Curves
Enhances cornering grip and dramatically reduces run-off-road crashes.

Localized high-friction treatment for problem roadway locations.
A prefabricated high-friction roadway treatment developed and evaluated at NCAT for curves, intersection approaches, bridge approaches, and short roadway segments with increased friction demands.

Skid-related crashes at crosswalks, intersections, and speed tables cost lives and taxpayer dollars every day. Faded paint and worn pavement lose friction exactly where drivers and pedestrians need them most — at night, in the rain, and in the moments that matter.
ROADWAY SAFETY STRIP™ DRAMATICALLY INCREASES SURFACE FRICTION — RIGHT WHERE HAZARDS HAPPEN.
Aggregate-embedded surface delivers exceptional friction on wet and dry pavement.
Built to withstand traffic loads, temperature swings, and years of exposure.
Deploy in hours with standard crew equipment — minimal lane closures.
A fraction of full pavement replacement — protect what you already have.
Developed, tested, and validated by Auburn University's National Center for Asphalt Technology.

Enhances cornering grip and dramatically reduces run-off-road crashes.

Shortens stopping distances and helps prevent rear-end and angle collisions.

Improves control during braking, acceleration, and merging maneuvers.

Provides reliable traction for safer braking on inclines and descents.

Boosts friction on often-polished or wet surfaces, durable option for high-traffic bridges.

Maintains consistent grip through curves and braking zones for smoother, safer flow.

Clean and dry the asphalt or concrete substrate.
Lay Roadway Safety Strip™ per project layout — no complex tooling.
Heat section and/or strip and secure into place.
Return the lane to service in a fraction of the time.
Roadway Safety Strip™ was developed by the National Center for Asphalt Technology at Auburn University. Its evaluation has included friction testing and accelerated traffic loading at the NCAT Test Track.
The treatment has also been installed at public-road locations in Lee County, Alabama, providing field experience under live traffic conditions. Performance continues to be monitored as additional agency applications are evaluated.

More than 10 million Equivalent Single Axle Loads of traffic exposure at the NCAT Test Track.
Continuing field-performance monitoring under live traffic conditions.
Testing and field experience help agencies evaluate potential applications. Final suitability depends on roadway conditions, pavement condition, traffic demands, treatment dimensions, and a site-specific technical review.
